Not sure I have heard of Sapphire. Thanks for writing!
Best,
BlairBlair K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14157417541423495396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2197351109161428231.post-25703013605347376112017-01-16T07:57:43.364-08:002017-01-16T07:57:43.364-08:00Blair,

There is some theory about the pros and cons of using egg, which I can't recall. Interesting about the vinegar. Will have to try that. So, when are you taking the plunge!

BlairBlair K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14157417541423495396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2197351109161428231.post-51014269512263178072013-01-18T12:38:29.348-08:002013-01-18T12:38:29.348-08:00Hi Blair,

The new ingredient-which they said prevents dough tearing- is a teaspoon of vinegar! The other ingredients are different than you have listed here:
2T shortening
2 1/2 c flour
1/2 teas salt
Blend above, then add:
1 egg
1/2 teas vanilla
1/2 cup lukewarm water.
1 teas vinegar

Knead til dough "blisters" about 10-15 minutes. Shape in to a ball and place on floured board. Cover with a warm bowl and let raise for 30 or more minutes. Roll out as you have described above.

Aunts said they had tears until they added vinegar.

From:
Susan at Slovenian Genealogy FB site
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
